Port of call, Japan

This is week 11 and I just made week 9 for the Art Journal Caravan. I wanted to keep up but as you notice I didn't succeed, LOL. Still two to go before Friday.
After Great Britain and France, port of call this month is Japan. My first page is about Japan, Land of the rising sun!
Everything I used is out of the March collection by Tangie Baxter.

Question

Port of call of the Art journal Caravan for March is Japan. But I still have one layout of France to show you. Word of the week was Question and I used the word as well as the Quickity Split, use 16 tiny polka dots, two bold words, stitches and an ephemera border. I always try to find a quote regarding the given word said by a person of the country we're in. This time a quote by the famous french writer Albert Camus.

Love

Port of call of The Art Journal Caravan is still France! When you think of France and especially Paris you think of love! With Valantinesday next thursday it is no coincidence that the word for this week happens to be LOVE!
I found this quote of George Sand, a french authoress, born in Paris in 1804. She said "There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved"
I used it in the quickity split (it gets you started in 10 minutes or less), take polka dots, gears, stitches and a silhoutte for your page.

Paris

It is already the fifth week of the Art Journal Caravan. We started in the United Kingdom and are now heading to France. When you speak about France you first have to think about Paris, city of lights but also city of love. I've been to Paris a few times and I love this city, it is so much alive!
In my page I used a photo in the background of "La Louvre", with the glass pyramid in front. And speaking of Paris of course I may not forget the famous Eiffeltower.

Open

Already week 4 for the Art Journal Caravan. Port of call is still the United Kingdom.
I chose again for the word of the week, this time it is "OPEN"
I found a quote on the internet of the Scottish whiskey distiller Thomas R. Dewar.
"Minds are like parachutes, they only function when open" So true!

The unsolved mystery

Port of call of the Art Journal Caravan is still the United Kingdom. Word of the week is mystery. One of the most interesting mysteries in my opinion is Stonehenge. Experts from all over the world tried to find out what the purpose of Stonehenge was. The latest discovery was that Stonehenge has wonderful acoustics. Maybe it was used for musical performances, a prehistoric discotheque? Was it one of the first crematoria, a timeclock, a healingplace like Lourdes nowadays or a place where they kept sacred rituals? Maybe it was just a piece of prehistoric art. Maybe they will never find out.

Time

Week 2 of the Art Journal Caravan is still at the port of call: United Kingdom. There are a lot of items of which you can choose. One of them is word of the week : TIME.
I chose for a quote by Sir James Matthew Barrie, he was a Scotsman and he created the story of Peter Pan. His quote sounds :
You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by; but some of them are golden because we let them slip by!

Stories from Scotland

The new format of the Art Journal Caravan 2013 is awesome! Port of call is United Kingdom. There are so many subjects you can use; famous people, fairytales, places of interest and so on.
It happens that the UK is one of my most favorite desitinations to go on vacation, it is such a wonderful country and people are so friendly and helpful!
It was no doubt that my first page had to be about this mysterious monster in Loch Ness. Did Nessie really exist or was it just an elephant?

Art Journal Caravan 2013

The journey has already started. And I didn't, no good start already. I still have to write a letter to myself and I have to do Itenerary 1 for this week. But yesterday I made my signature, my passportstamp, my word of the year!
This year I chose "CREATE" I discovered digital scrapbooking six years ago and after my poor attempts I got a bit better and also started experimenting with photoshop and altered art. And I love it, could not do without it anymore.
But I totally switched from handcraft to digital and after six years I start to miss handcraft. So this year I'm going to do both! CREATE!!!

Ethereal

I just did week 50 of the AJC 2012! Still two pages to go. I am going to make it this year. The only thing I did not work out are the monthly quests. The last one was the quest in March or april! Tonight I joined the AJC of 2013 and I saw that there are a lot of changes this year. I'm very exited because Tangie announced that it will be the best journey ever!

The word for week 50 is ethereal. This is what I made of it. Credits: Danimoy Designs, Paula Kesselring. Font I used is Country gold.

Zebra

I try to catch up for the Art Journal Caravan. The last few days I made five pages! The next one will be for week 48 so I still have five pages to go!
I will not show them all five to you, I selected the one I think is the best and the funniest of them all. It is called Zebra and contains a quote by Dr. Seuss.
Materials I used are all by Tangie Baxter, the alpha is by Gunhild Storeide (striped by me). The photo of the Zebra is made in Burgers Zoo and edited by me.

Elixir

Today I made another two LO's for the Art Journal Caravan 2012. Still ten weeks to go, maybe I will finish it because I don't have to work during the holidays!

The word for week 41 was Noctilucous, that means a shining in the night. I made the background for this LO myself, the rest is by Pixelfairy from the kit New moon.

Elixir is the word for week 42. I used a wonderful paper made by Captivated Visions (Believe in beautiful), elements by Tangie Baxter and Scraps of Ellay. The photo in the background of the bottles is by me, made in the Glassmuseum in Leerdam.

Art Journal Caravan

I'm not going to make it this year either. I just finished week 39 and 40. Before we went to New York I was a few weeks behind and when we came back there were so many kits waiting that I had no time for the AJC. At Scrapbookgraphics you already can sign in for the AJC 2013. Shall I do it again? I'm still thinking about it. Maybe I will, it is fun!

Here are my LO's for week 39 and 40. Credits for the first one are for Captivated Visions (Celeste add-on), for the second LO I only used elements and papers by Tangie Baxter.

Tangerine

Vooruit, nog eentje dan voor de AJC. Misschien vanavond nog eentje dan kom ik toch weer een beetje dichterbij. Ik vind de opdrachten in één kleur altijd erg leuk om te doen. Heel je computer afstruinen naar die elementen in die kleur die er bij passen. Deze keer is de kleur Tangerine.

Tangerine is een felle kleur oranje, daar word je toch vrolijk van? Voor credits klik hier.

Machination

Ik weet het, elke keer zeg ik dat ik een inhaalslag maak voor wat betreft The Art Journal Caravan, ik maak dan een tweetal lootjes achter elkaar, denk dan dat ik er bijna ben en dan gebeurt er niets meer. Zo loop ik de achterstand nooit in. Vandaag dus week 37 gemaakt en we zitten al weer in week 43, schiet lekker op.
Toch blijf ik er bij dat ik 'm dit jaar af ga maken. We zullen zien.

Vandaag dus week 37 gemaakt, Machination. Lekker wat steampunk elementen kunnen gebruiken uit de kits van Sudio Rosey Posey en Danis Salles Design, opgeleukt met wat "gear" brushes.

The last person I kissed....

Nog een lootje voor de Art Journal Caravan. Week 36, ik kom steeds weer een stukje dichterbij. Vorig jaar ben ik niet zo ver gekomen, zou het me dit jaar wel lukken om het tot het einde toe te volbrengen?

Het woord van deze week was Idiosyncrasy, of te wel een karaktertrek in de vorm van een maniertje. Weer een woord waar ik niets mee kon. Daarom heb ik gekozen voor de zin "The last person I kissed" Dat is niet zo moeilijk, natuurlijk is dat mijn Jaap.

Oxymoron

Ik heb eindelijk weer eens tijd gevonden om een scrap voor de Art Journal Caravan te maken. Oxymoron is het woord voor week 35. Ik had geen idee wat het woord betekende maar gelukkig; lang leve internet. Oxymoron is een stijlfiguur waarbij twee woorden die elkaar in hun letterlijke betekenis tegenspreken toch worden gecombineerd tot één begrip. Bijvoorbeeld; een oorverdovende stilte.

Ik heb er een verhaaltje van proberen te maken, volgepropt met "oxymorons" Een verhaaltje dat eigenlijk nergens op slaat, het had nog veel langer kunnen worden, want op deze site staat een ellenlange oxymoron list. Keuze te over, laat je fantasie de vrije loop!

AJC week 34

Heel langzaam haal ik de achterstand in, week 34 afgerond, nog drie weken te gaan. Aan de maandelijkse quest denk ik maar niet, ik geloof nooit dat ik dat kan inhalen. Volgens mij is maart of april de laatste keer dat ik hem gemaakt heb.

Voor week 34 heb ik gekozen voor de quote. Ook nu had ik geen enkel idee bij het gegeven woord : Woebegone.

AJC week 33

Heb nog een beetje achterstand bij de Art Journal Caravan van Scrapbook Graphics. Ik heb vanavond week 31, 32 en 33 gemaakt.
Ik vind de AJC in vergelijking met vorig jaar een stuk lastiger. Het wekelijkse woord dat gegeven wordt laat zich zo lastig vertalen naar het Nederlands, ik heb er meestal geen ideeën bij.
Toch wil ik 'm dit jaar afmaken, het gaat me lukken.

Art journal Caravan

Afgelopen weekend heb ik mijn blog weer eens een update gegeven. Een aantal blinkies werkten niet meer omdat ze bij Imagehost waren ondergebracht. Helaas is deze photo hostingsite gestopt, tja en dan krijg je alleen een kruisje te zien. Dus blinkies op photobucket gezet en de linkjes gecontroleerd. Ook heb ik mijn AJC blog opgezegd. Naast al die verschillende gallerys, facebook en twee blogs, wel een beetje veel. Dus heb ik besloten ook mijn AJC creaties op deze blog te publiceren. Gelijk maar even de daad bij het woord voegen en mijn laatste AJC creatie plaatsen.
