And here is my second with this wonderful kit : Small world USA. This time I used photos of our visit to Washington D.C. This page is made for the template challenge at Gingerscraps. Template is by La Bell Vie Designs.

Winter blessings

Yesterday I was in a scrapping mood. First I made two Quick pages for the release to come by Kristmess Designs. This kit is called Bunny Love and is sooooo very cute. When it is released I will show some pages.

After that I was still in a scrapping mood so I did a template challenge for Gingerscraps. The template is by Miss Fish designs and I filled it up with Winter Wonderland by Kristmess Designs.

Template challenge

As I have written before, I love challenges. Especially template challenges. This template is by Scraps N Pieces (Gingerscraps). I used Mr. Cunningly Sly by Kristmess Designs. I introduced this kit in my previous post. This time I didn't use the foxes to show that you can use this kit for any photo you like!

September daze

The last few weeks were not easy. On August 13 we got a telephone call that my father in law was found on the floor of his diningroom. They had brought him to hospital.
He was not addressable and he had a pneumonia. After treatment he was still not addressable. The expactation was that his situation would not change.
We had to make this difficult dicision to stop treatment and to focus on comfort. August 25 my father in law passed away at the age of 93. Rest in piece dear dad, I love you with all my heart.

My father in law was the last living parent. He has his own appartment a two hours drive from where we live. The house has to be cleared, cleaned and sold, so busy times are ahead.

In the meantime I wasn't able to scrap, I had no time but I also didn't feel like it. But today I started again with a challenge at Gingerscraps. A wonderful template by Dagi's temp-tations and September Daze by Kristmess Designs.

I scapped the wonderful walk we made on August 13. The same day as we got this awful telephone call, it started as a perfect Sunday......

The Marvelous collection by Kristmess Designs is such a lovely collection. Because of it "comicbook look" you can create little stories. For the template challenge at Gingerscraps Kristmess created a template whitch is perfect for a little story.

Scrapping Survivor

At Gingerscraps they started a new challenge, Scrapping Survivor 7 - Digi-Land. I sure haven't got a clue what it is all about. When you make your layout there are very strict rules. There must be some kind of voting because at the end there are only a few winners left. Nobody knows how voting will be done, it is all mysterious to me. I see various alliances, I don't know if this helps but I signed up for two of them. What I do know is that it gives you a lot of comments on your pages. So far I got already 21 comments.

The first assignment was scraplifting a page of your own choice. So far easy peasy. I'm looking forward to the second assignment, eh... when I'm still in the game of course. This is the page I made. Photos are taken at the Isle La Palma (One of the Canary Islands). We are standing on Roque de Los Muchachos, altitude 2426 m. So pretty, really breathtaking.

Days gone by

If you love to scrap with heritage photos, than Days gone by from Kristmess Designs is the kit for you! The colorscheme matches sepia and B&W photos perfectly. It is packed with lovely vintage elements. I scrapped an old photo of my grandparents, must be taken around 1920, don't know exactly. I made this page also for the template challenge at Gingerscraps. The template is by Tinci Designs.

Power in stripes

Love challenges, I think I mentioned it before. And of all challenges I love a template challenge the most. It is so fun to see what everybody creates with it. All so different. Today I downloaded a template at Pickleberrypop by Miss Mel. For this template I used the kit Zebra's in charge by Kathryn Estry. I love the black background with all the bright elements.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! It is Monday, January 2nd and I don't have to work untill tomorrow. Allmost everything is back to normal again. Changed the bedware, washing machine is on. Time to see if there are nice challenges in scrapbooking land.

Kristmess Designs opened her store at Gingerscraps, yeah! I love that site, glad to be back again. Kristmess is hosting the first template challenge so I had to compete! I used Kristmess Cardinals page kit, add-on and word art.

Pickleberrypop

Because of the closure of Gottapixel my designers have to find a new store. Kristmess is opening at Gingerscraps. I already have an account there. I love that site so I'm glad she is opening her store there. Katrhyn Estry is opening a new store at Pickleberrypop. I heard of the store but I never visited. But after making an account I visited the forum, lots of fun overthere! I also made a few challenges. I think I'm going to like it there.

This page I made with the free minikit "Merry & bright" by Dita B Designs for the "use it all" challenge. Fun to make!

Positano

It was a rainy day today. Time to scrap, what else. At Gingerscraps I just had to make the second template challenge of this month. It is a template by Neverland Scraps. I filled it with the kit Spring has sprung by Cathy K Designs. Subject of my page is the village Positano in Italy. Lovely memories of our vacation last year!

Beautiful view

Just felt like scapping this afternoon. For the surprise challenge at GottaPixel you had to use "wood" I used the kit Denim & Lace by Cathy K Designs. This kit has a wonderful wooden background paper in it. The photo is taken years ago in 2008. I believe it is the Brienzer Lake in Switzerland.

Simple Simon Says

There is a new challenge at GottaPixel this month. It is called "simple Simon says" There is a very simple template to download in 12x12, 4x6 card or ATC card. The only rule is that you leave the squares where they are. You can rotate, use photos or not, add as much as you like.

For this template I used the kit Perfectly Paris by Kathryn Estry, because the colors matches the photo I used!

Putting it all together

For the "putting it all together" challenge at Gotta Pixel I made this flowery page using April Daze page kit. It is like a template challenge, the difference is that you can use all the different Png files in every place you like.

Butterfly

A new month, new challenges! The first challenges I always make are those using templates. Just choose your photos, the right kit and you are ready in no time. For the template challenge at Gotta Pixel I made this page using Rhapsody in blue by Alessandra Designs. The template is by Lindsay Jane. This photo is taken at the Butterfly garden in the Zoo of Emmen. Love to go there!

Popquiz challenge

Every month Kathryn Estry hosts the Poquiz Challenge at Ginger Scraps. I love this challenge! Every month she asks 7 questions which you have to answer in the challenge forum. Depending on you answers you get instructions what to scrap. This month was a real challenge. You had to scrap just the opposite way you gave your answers.

Are you scrapping fast or slow. If you answer slow, you have to scrap fast and the other way around. So I had to make a layout as fast as I could, I had to use crayon colors, it had to be a cute page and I had to use a new technique. Use several photos and 7 papers.

Wel this is my attempt. The new technique was creating an alpha, using different papers. I also made the flowers and leaves myself using shapes. The kit I used was Kindergarten kisses by Kathryn Estry. The only kit with crayon colors I have, LOL.

By the way, I used three photos of my cousin and my little nephew Mirii. I used these photos because they happened to whear crayon color clothes. Don't they match perfectly with the kit I used?

What the flick!

I think I mentioned it before but I love challenges! Today I made a page for the "What the flick" challenge hosted by Kristmess Designs at Gotta Pixel. She gave us a picture of a poster and asked to create a layout inspired by this poster.

Well I was inspired by the words. I made my layout with "The wild side" by Kristmess Designs. I used the word "spring" and translated is in several languages. Quite a job because I had to create every word letter by letter from the alpha matching this kit.

Cappuccino

Last year we went on vacation to Italy. After we crossed the border of Italy we stopped at a mall. We were thirsty and we desperately needed some coffee.
My husband ordered coffee and I ordered a cappuccino. We didn't realize that a cup of coffee in Italy is the same as an espresso. Just one big swig and his cup was empty and he was still thirsty, LOL. I was glad I asked for a cappuccino.

For a challenge at Gottapixel I made this page where I told this little story. I used the kit Lori Lane by Kathryn Estry.

Dizzy

I started the year not very well. Last Sundaynight I woke up and turned around in my bed. It was such a strange feeling to be dizzy! It even happened twice that night. When I woke up in the morning I didn't think about it anymore, but after I showered and I wanted to dress myself, I suddenly fell down. Luckily I didn't hurt myself. Called work that I was ill and called the doctor for an appointment.
I felt quite well but at moments I looked up or down I got dizzy again. I'm very glad that it is not serious, I only have a disturbed vestibular, caused by to much earwax! The doctor gave me some pills against my dizzyness and I have to get rid of the earwax. I'm still a bit woozy but it is getting better every day now. There is a positive side: lots of time to scrap :-)

Tot mijn verrassing heb ik de midmaand challenge oktober op Digiscrap.nl gewonnen. Nou ja gewonnen? De winnaar mag de midmaand challenge van december organiseren, en als ik ergens niet goed in ben is het wel het bedenken van een challenge. Gelukkig heb ik nog een hele maand om er over na te denken, pas op 15 december moet ik 'm plaatsten, .....zucht!
