Template challenge

As I have written before, I love challenges. Especially template challenges. This template is by Scraps N Pieces (Gingerscraps). I used Mr. Cunningly Sly by Kristmess Designs. I introduced this kit in my previous post. This time I didn't use the foxes to show that you can use this kit for any photo you like!

I love, love this new kit by Kristmess Designs. It is called Mr. Cunningly Sly. A kit perfect for all pages about autumn, but also for all other kind of photos! The foxes are adorable!

Pumpkin time

It's the most lovely time of the year! I love Autumn. Changing colors, Indian summer days, falling leaves, walking in the wind and pumpkins! There are a lot of scrapbooking kits released this time of year, all with lovely brown and orange colors.

Autumn leaves

Fall! I love this season. I love the changing colors, cool breezes, mushrooms.... Fall is also a lovely season to scrap. I have lots of photos and designers make "Fall" kits galore. The latest bundle by Kathryn Estry is called Autumn leaves. Autumn Leaves is the season of color in all it's glory! Loaded with flowers and leaves, fall images, and tons of "must have" elements, this collection will be your "go to" kit for fall and Thanksgiving photos. This bundle is part of the monthly Pickle Barrel at Pickleberrypop.

September daze

The last few weeks were not easy. On August 13 we got a telephone call that my father in law was found on the floor of his diningroom. They had brought him to hospital.
He was not addressable and he had a pneumonia. After treatment he was still not addressable. The expactation was that his situation would not change.
We had to make this difficult dicision to stop treatment and to focus on comfort. August 25 my father in law passed away at the age of 93. Rest in piece dear dad, I love you with all my heart.

My father in law was the last living parent. He has his own appartment a two hours drive from where we live. The house has to be cleared, cleaned and sold, so busy times are ahead.

In the meantime I wasn't able to scrap, I had no time but I also didn't feel like it. But today I started again with a challenge at Gingerscraps. A wonderful template by Dagi's temp-tations and September Daze by Kristmess Designs.

I scapped the wonderful walk we made on August 13. The same day as we got this awful telephone call, it started as a perfect Sunday......

Belly Flops

The latest kit by Kristmess Designs is called Belly Flops. A colorful collection all about swimming! At the beach or in the pool, whatever you like as long as you have fun!

The collection is available at Gingerscraps and Daisies and Dimples.

Lolly bag

Pickleberrypop is celebrating its 11th Birthday! There are all kind of festivities, sales, challenges and games. There are twenty designers who created a so called Lollybag. Large scrapbook kits for only $5 each. You have to hurry because it is only for a limited time.

Kathryn Estry has made two Lolly bags in the sweetest colors you can imagine. Soft blue, orange and brown tones. So beuatiful. The entire kit is called Butterfly kisses.
It is packed with lovely papers, flowers, butterflies, stamps and lots more. There is also a wonderful alpha included.

Slide

The Marvelous collection by Kristmess Designs is such a lovely collection. Because of it "comicbook look" you can create little stories. For the template challenge at Gingerscraps Kristmess created a template whitch is perfect for a little story.

Summer of 2013

I made another page with de lovely collection Erika's Beach Party by Kathryn Estry. I used a photo taken at the beach of Catricum (The Netherlands). It was a very windy day.

This page has been chosen as one of the pickle picks. Hope to be Layout of the week sometimes.

Marvelous

Marvelous is the latist collection by Kristmess Designs. This kit is available at Gingerscraps. This collection is so cute. It is all about superheroes. Style of the kit is comicbook, with speach- and thoughtbubbles. You can make your own stories.

This is what I made of it.

Erika's Beach Party

It is Pickle Barrel time at Pickleberrypop. All bundles in the Pickle barrel (7 packs in each bundle) are only $6 for a limited time. Kathryn has this lovely collection called Erika's Beach Party. This collection is dedicated to Erika, she is also a talented CT member in Kathryns team.

This collection is all about the beach, but there are enough elements in it to create non-beach layouts. This is my first page.

Doin' Science

Every third Tuesday every month it is Pickle Barrel time! One colorscheme and almost every designer at Pickleberrypop comes with lovely collections. For a limited time it has a very sharp price, only $1 per pack! This month the colorscheme is just gorgeous. Kathryn Estry came up with a science collection.
Kathryn says:

"Everyone with kids knows that they love "doin' science." For most that means experiments. I've made this adorable page kit for you to use to scrap those great teachable moments, your child's science fair, school projects, exploring nature, doing kitchen experiments, etc. Besides being packed with science stuff, you'll find 4 kids in this collection: Harry and Hermione are in the main Element Pack, and Albert and Marie are two of my Extra Elements. Have fun with your child, take photos, and scrap those awesome memories with Doin' Science!"

As I have no kids and no science photos I used one of the Word Arts of this wonderful collection.

Teach a man to fish

Hi there! Today it is Father's day. For this occasion Kristmess Designs has released this cute collection called Fishful thinking. For all fishing fathers and sons. But maybe you fish yourself!

For this page I created a word art, it is a famous proverb by Maimonides.

Happy

Kristmess Designs releases about three kits a month at Ginger Scraps after the site Gottapixel stopped. They are older kits released before and once a month some new work.
This month Kristmess has made some lovely templates to create beautiful borders, titles and stacked paper backgrounds. I combined a border template and a title template with the older kit Spring Whispers. All available at Gingerscraps.

This is what I created.

Time for a trim

Kristmess has this cute collection called Hair today, gone tomorrow. It is all about getting a (first) haircut. There is a collection for girls and also one for boys. And of course also a combined collection. Available at Gingerscraps.

I had the perfect photos for this collection. My little nephew, who lives in America, had his first haircut lately. As you can see he is not very pleased with his new look, but I think he looks rather handsome, don't you think so too?

Feyenoord

Football is a sport I don't care about, I don't watch it. But football is huge in The Netherlands. Most of the time you are a fan of the football club of the town you were born in. I was born in Amsterdam so I have to be a fan of Ajax. My cousin, born in Amsterdam too is a fan of the football club of Rotterdam, Feyenoord. It's a shame, haha.

Last weekend Feyenoord became National Champion after 18 years. My cousin and his little son were over the moon. Nice scrapping material!

Hello spring

In name it is spring, but the weather shows different. It is still cold and sometimes rainy. Where is the sun? Anyway in digiland it is already spring. Lots of sunny kits with flowers, birds and butterflies. The latest kit by kathryn is called : Hello Spring available at Pickleberrypop. And it is on sale right now. There are 9 differtent packs all reduced 50%. Great deal isn't it?

Spring Bouquet

It is the first of May today but Spring is far far away. It is cold and rainy. I'm so much longing for lovely warm and sunny days. I want get rid of all winterclothes.
But in all the digi shops it is already spring. Kristmess has a lovely kit called Spring Bouquet.
There are also matching shabby papers, borders, word art and an alpha.

For this page I also used a template, this one is by Tinci Designs.

Sweet Treats

Kathryn and Kristina teamed up together for a new Kits for Kids collection. It is called Sweet Treats. This collection is available at Pickleberrypop and at Gingerscraps.

You guess it right, it is all about candy! Lovely sweet colors! It was a bit hard for me, don't heve photos of children eating candy. But wait, didn't I visit the M&M Store when I was in New York?

SEWphie & Friends

It is the monthly Pickle Barrel at Pickelberrypop. There are some gorgeous collections and they are all on sale for a limited time. Kathryns part is called SEWphie and Friends. You guessed it right it is al about sewing and a bit about crafting.

Spread your wings

Because of the closure of the Gottapixel site my designers had to move their shop to other scrapsites. Kathryn went to Pickleberrypop and Kristmess went to Gingerscraps. Gingerscraps is my favorite! These are busy times, every month they put up three older kits and some months also a new kit. Yesterday I thought I was all done, today I see three more kits uploaded. There we go again, lol.

Spread your wings by Kristmess Designs is a beautiful kit in spring colors. I love this kit so much that I'm using it over and over. Here are three pages I made with it. The background of the last page is blended with a template by Dawn Inskip.

Feeling Groovy

I was born in 1955, so my youth memories are from the sixties and the seventies. It is so great to go through old photos of that time! Kristmess Designs has this kit called Feeling Groovy. This kit is perfect for these swinging sixties photos. This kit is available at Gingersscraps.

For this layout I used a templae by Scrapaneers.

Hot cross bunnies

April Buffet at Gingerscraps is lovely, such sweet colors! Kristmess Designs has made this very cute kit called Hot cross bunnies. You guess it right it is packed with cute bunnies, Easter eggs and a lot more. This large bundle is on sale untill April 5. There are also matching QP's, artsy frames, artsy papers and stamps.

Garden Party

The latest bundle by Kathryn Estry is called Garden Party. This bundle is part of the Pickle Barrel March. For a short period of time the bundle is only $6,-
Garden Party is a whimsical springtime collection filled with little garden fairies and lots of fun possibilities for your layouts.

Two kits, same colors

Kathryn Estry has two new kits available at Pickleberrypop. They both have the same color scheme. Combine the two kits and you have one huge kit! One is called Anita's Prayer Journal en the other one Studio Kathryn.

I made two pages, both using a template. One by Tinci Designs and the other one Scraps by Missy.

Masquerade

Masquerade is a kit by Kathryn Estry, all about Mardi Gras. Kathryn writes "If you celebrate Mardi Gras or any festival, you'll love the papers and elements in this page kit! Loaded with masks and other carnival goodies, how great your festival photos will look in the traditional colors of purple, green, and gold! There's even a king cake included along with beads, charms, and lots of glittery surprises! Use this collection for any dress up occasion, masked balls, and parties! Laisses les bons temps rouler! As I'm not a party person I don't have photos to match this kit, Mardi Gras is a Texan, New Orleans to be precise. But this kit is so versatile! There are a lot of elements in it for other purposes. I tried to prove it with my page, based on a template by Heartstring Scrap Art.

Scrapping Survivor

At Gingerscraps they started a new challenge, Scrapping Survivor 7 - Digi-Land. I sure haven't got a clue what it is all about. When you make your layout there are very strict rules. There must be some kind of voting because at the end there are only a few winners left. Nobody knows how voting will be done, it is all mysterious to me. I see various alliances, I don't know if this helps but I signed up for two of them. What I do know is that it gives you a lot of comments on your pages. So far I got already 21 comments.

The first assignment was scraplifting a page of your own choice. So far easy peasy. I'm looking forward to the second assignment, eh... when I'm still in the game of course. This is the page I made. Photos are taken at the Isle La Palma (One of the Canary Islands). We are standing on Roque de Los Muchachos, altitude 2426 m. So pretty, really breathtaking.

Cheeky monkeys

Who doesn't love to visit the Zoo? I think most of us do. And when I visit the Zoo I have to see monkeys! Kristmess Designs has this very cute kit for all your monkey photos. It is called Cheeky Monkey and is available at Gingerscraps. This is my first page.

Once upon a dream

It's the third Tuesday of the month and that means Pickle Barrel time. Huge collections, 6 packs from all different designers for only 6$. They have all the same color scheme so you can mix it all together. The collection of Kathryn Estry is called Once upon a dream.

Regal Elegance

Regal Elegance is an older kit by Kristmess, newly released at Gingerscraps. It is a very elegant kit in teal, white and purple. Not an easy color combination but so beautiful.

February Scraps

Kathryn Estry releases a scrapkit every month, a year of color-coordinated scrap kits. Of course February is all about love, so the main color is red! There are a lot of hearts, flowers en lovely word art to complete your page. It is available at Pickleberrypop.

Here is a page I made with it. Patient subject is my husband. We are together for 31 years now and I love him still to pieces!

Rootin' Tootin'

Do you love the Wild West just like I do, and you like digital scrapbooking? Than I'm sure you like the newest release by Kristmess Designs Rootin'Tootin' available at Gingerscraps as part of the February Buffet.

It is such a fun kit!

I had a lot of photos to match this kit so I finished two pages in a jiffy!

February Daze

Kristmess releases every month a kit reflecting the month we live in. With each kit she releases a pocket pack (including a pocket scrap template) and a pack with extra bits.
February Daze is all about love, with a blink to Valentine's day.

I made a scrap with the template and filled it with the pocket cards. The rest of the elements are from Love and Stuff.

Power of Prayer

Power of Prayer is an older kit by Kathryn Estry. Since the closing of Gotta Pixel Kathryn is releasing all her kits at Pickleberry Pop one at the time. I'm not a religious person but there are a lot of elements in this kit to make a non religious page.

Here are two pages I made with it. I love the colorcombination.

Kangaroo

I have never been to Australia. It looks like a great county to visit for a vacation, but it is too far away. Don't like to fly that long. But for those whoe live in Australia or those who will go on vacation to Australia Kristmess has this cute kit packe with "Australian" stuff. I found a few photos of an albino kangaroo. Perfect for this kit.

Days gone by

If you love to scrap with heritage photos, than Days gone by from Kristmess Designs is the kit for you! The colorscheme matches sepia and B&W photos perfectly. It is packed with lovely vintage elements. I scrapped an old photo of my grandparents, must be taken around 1920, don't know exactly. I made this page also for the template challenge at Gingerscraps. The template is by Tinci Designs.

Miss Peach

Miss Peach is the latest release from Kathryn Estry. At the moment it is only availabel at Pickleberrypop. It is for the Pickle Barrel event, all packs by all designers in the same colorscheme for only $1 per pack. So mix and create!

Chamonix

I love the mountains. It is such a pity that we don't have them in The Netherlands. If we have the change we try to spend our summer vacation in the mountains. This page is made with photos we took in 2011, we had our vacation in Switzerland and too a daytrip to France. The Mont Blanc, the highest mountain of the Alps.
